What should happen after baptism? What’s expected of parents? The baptized individual?

Baptized people should find opportunities to grow in grace! Ingest the Word, be nourished by the Lord’s Supper (communion), gather for worship and fellowship with God’s people, and remember your baptism as often as you can.

Parents, make it a point to celebrate and teach your children about their baptism.

Every time we approach the Lord’s Table for communion, it’s a chance to “remember our baptism” even if it happened when we were babies, before we have conscious memory. After all, at the table we’re “remembering” the death of Christ even though it happened long before we were born! Pursue and pray for the baptism to be confirmed in faith - for a circumcised heart, that joyfully acknowledged that Christ has come in the flesh and given himself for our sins.
