When the man who has proven himself to be God-in-flesh and the King of all kings wraps a towel around his waste and performs a task reserved for the lowest of servants, you take notice.  When he said we should do the same thing for one another, it started a revolution. 

It’s a private revolution: real life pulls us away from Jesus - foot washing is his way of bringing us back, of reminding us about who he is. 

And it’s a public revolution: Jesus started a movement that spreads not through conquest, but through service.
