Phases of Fear

Various Proverbs:

1:7 - "Fearing the Lord is the beginning of discernment but fools have despised wisdom and moral instruction."

2:1-5 - "My child, if you receive my words, and store up my commands inside yourself,by making your ear attentive to wisdom, and by turning your heart to understanding, indeed, if you call out for discernment – shout loudly for understanding – if you seek it like silver, and search for it like hidden treasure,  then you will understand how to fear the Lord, and you will discover knowledge about God."

3:7 - "Do not be wise in your own estimation; fear the Lord and turn away from evil"

8:13 - "The fear of the Lord is to hate evil; I hate arrogant pride and the evil way and perverse utterances.

9:10 - "The beginning of wisdom is to fear the Lord, and acknowledging the Holy One is understanding"

14:2 - "The one who walks in his uprightness fears the Lord, but the one who is perverted in his ways despises him"

14:26-27 - "In the fear of the Lord one has strong confidence,and it will be a refuge for his children. The fear of the Lord is like a life-giving fountain, to turn people from deadly snares."

15:16 - "Better is little with the fear of the Lord than great wealth and turmoil with it."

15:33 - "The fear of the Lord provides wise instruction, and before honor comes humility."

23:17 - "Do not let your heart envy sinners, but rather be zealous in fearing the Lord all the time" 

31:30 - "Charm is deceitful and beauty is fleeting. A woman who fears the Lord– she makes herself praiseworthy"
