Acrostic Poetry Contest!

LCC’s PSALM 119 ACROSTIC POEM CONTEST

Write an Acrostic Poem about God’s Word. Due August 2.

In an acrostic poem, the first letter of each line combines to form the alphabet or a word. You may write one that is as long or as short as you choose (Psalm 119 is an acrostic poem with 176 lines!). Here are two examples:

All I want is to read the Bible

Book after book of God’s grace

Could I last a minute without it?

Or:

Listen to God speak

Over and over he whispers

Violent minds ignore him, but

Everyone who listens will hear

Entries will be judged by the staff in 3 age categories:

  • Elementary School,

  • Middle and High School, and

  • Adult.

There will be prizes, and poems will be featured on our website and facebook pages, maybe even read on a Sunday! All poems due Sunday, August 2.

SUBMIT your poem in an email to mike@littletonchristian.com.
